You’ve spent the last 4 years or maybe more to get your degree but is it the end of your journey? Indeed, it is kind of exhausting just to get a diploma and a lot of choices waiting for you to take. Most of your batchmates already have a blueprint of plans, whether to continue a career or choose a different path. but remember there’s no shame in still not having a plan for your future yet. Here are some potential ways to start a new journey of yours.

1. Get a graduate job.

This might be the first choice that you will take. It is true that after you get your degree you will start again with a clean slate. Find a job that is related to your course. It is your advantage to work on something that you’ve mastered for a couple of years. If the employment rate of your destination job is low, you can pass vitae to a different company then. Take your chances.

If your degree is out of your interest, you may find a job that suits your talent instead. Maybe a skill, where your heart is like programming, supervising, teaching, cooking etc. It would help you for an alternative option to get a job.

2. Become a businessman.

If you’re not a fan of being an employee, why not be your own boss? Business is a good investment but there are factors that you may consider like capital, market, resources and so on. You can ask relatives or friends who have started a successful business and ask for advice. A wise man seeks counsel. On the contrary you may research how to fund or start a business. Attend webinars, talks, sessions with successful influencer businessmen that you know.

You can be your own in a business or have partners. It is a matter of what you prefer most. There are pros and cons on having business partners so it is up to you to decide.

3. Take a postgraduate study.

If you think that it is not yet a goodbye to your university, you can continue to study. There are careers that require one to be qualified. For others it is not a requirement but rather an advantage on your behalf. Aside from being more in- depth on a particular aspect, on a job you will have incentive, promotion or additional salary. Postgraduate study is not for everyone.

It is a matter of commitment and focus. You must have a reason for pursuing this or you will end up giving up pursuing the continuation of your degree. Think twice before you take it. To broaden your horizon, you can take postgraduate study overseas at well-known universities.

4. Take a breath and plan.

If you think college is exhausting, draining you inside out, taking a break is another option. You can travel, capture sceneries and plan. A relaxed mind is a good mind. Meditate on what matters. Know where your heart’s taking you. Plan and put your heart and mind on it. According to Psychology, a decision is uncertain when your heart and mind are against each other. Decide on what you feel, and what you love.

When you already choose a path to pursue. Be firm and give your best in every little thing.
