Growing Up Reminiscing the Good Old Days

Do you still remember when you were a child and you wanted to grow up so badly? You wanted to be an adult because you thought you could get everything you wanted. A job, a nice car, a comfortable house and happy life. You wouldn’t have to ask everything to your parents because you’re an adult who can decide for yourself; you wouldn’t have to worry about your parents because they trust you. You envy those people who are ahead of your age thinking that they are living a happier life than yours; it’s funny that sometimes you even wish at the stars that time will fly past so that you’re already in your adult life. Well, you should have enjoyed your childhood life more because you’ll be laughing so hard while reading this, it is far from what you are expecting when you were a child.

Being in your 20’s isn’t something easy, you’ve got responsibilities, goals, dreams, self-doubt, and everything that you needed to overcome or pursue, for you to become more alive because it feels like when you enter your teenage life and experience a situation that forever change your perspective, the child in you dies. The irony this is at this age, you reminisce, being a child, and, well, I guess cheers to the good old days. A carefree, happy, doesn’t aware of what’s happening around you; small things make you happy, a kind of child like that. But this is different, you have to graduate, to find a job, to live… and when you look at the children outside, you feel happy at the same time a bit of emptiness lingers, you’re an adult now, you just can’t play outside and wait for your parents to feed you, give you clothes, take you a bath, give what you want… it’s something you can’t do anymore. You have to live and survive, the anxiety that lingers from the past, the fear of what might happen in the future, they are always there and you always need to overcome them. There are times that fit feels like you are unsure about what might happen tomorrow… you just wanted to go back to being a child who doesn’t worry about anything.

But one thing is for sure, you must keep moving forward, because one day you’re going to fill that void that lingers for a long period of time. You’re going to figure out yourself and where you want to be and one day, you’re going to be happy like the child you used to be.
