Biag ni Lam-Ang

Bravery and perseverance are evident in the epic. Lam-Ang, the protagonist, is remarkably brave for he used his supernatural abilities to avenge his father to the Igorots. Lastly, he has perseverance in a way that despite the belittling of Sumarang and the discouraging to court Ines by her mother, he proved to them that as long as he focused himself on a matter he wants, he can have it.

Bidasari

The Mindanao epic based on Malay romance, Bidasari, teaches us that envy makes an evil person. The Sultana Lila Sari felt no contention despite the assurance of love for her by Sultan Mongindra. She undervalued her beauty that is why when she found out Bidasari is also beautiful, Lila Sari punished her as a result of being envious and no self- contentment. Whilst for Bidasari, she showed that whoever will have patience and hope, it may help them to overcome adversities.

Indarapatra at Sulayman

The siblings Indarapatra and Sulayman express that familial love establishes an invincible bond which can aid to combat adversities. From that, both become selfless to help their community; hence, nationalism is observed. Lastly, this epic shows that true heroes are made to sacrifice for the greater good.
