Whether online or face to face classes, we cannot change the fact that exams are still held the same, camera on, time-limited, monitored. If you are having difficulty in reviewing here are the few tips for you:
1. Set the best time that suits you.
For sure you are a student and time is valuable to you. You have classes whether online or physical class and so your time is limited. You can review at night/midnight. In that case, you take a nap first in order that your brain cells can rest and do the review after.
If you don’t prefer midnight, do it at dawn instead.
2. Instead of highlighting, write your own notes.
According to psychology, there is a higher retention in as much as twenty percent when you write your own notes than highlighting it in the books or any references. In addition, it is not necessary to write all of the information. Just pick the important details, terms, words and when you do that’s the time for memorization and mastery.
3. Find a study buddy.
A study buddy is not totally necessary but it would help you a lot. If you already did the tip#2 above, you can proceed in testing your knowledge. You can do it by changing questions to your study buddy, this is another higher retention, when you remember that you are being asked the same question.
4. Make the whole lesson your coverage.
Most of the time, you have no idea what will appear on the exam. Thus, it is very important if you will cover all of the topics, supporting topics in a subject. This will help you not to miss a single point score.
5. Be ahead of time.
It is good if you will start reviewing 3-5 days before the exam. It would help your mind not be pressured and you can focus on reviewing. On consecutive days, you always recite your own notes. Mastery is an advantage in taking major exams.
